Seawall cost per foot in Palm Beach County: every published range compared

Updated November 6, 2026

Seven published price ranges, side by side, with the source and date for each, plus a calculator.

Published seawall prices for South Florida run from $175 per linear foot (vinyl sheet pile on a protected canal) to $2,000 per linear foot (deep water, heavy engineering). Most of that spread is not disagreement. It comes from what each source includes, the wall material, how exposed the water is, and how old the number is. Below, every range we could find is shown side by side with its source and the date we read it, followed by a calculator that multiplies your wall length by each range.

West Palm Seawalls is not a contractor and does not quote, bid or perform seawall work. These are other parties' published figures, not quotes. A licensed marine contractor and, for structural work, an engineer set the real number for your wall.

All figures fetched November 6, 2026 from the linked pages. Sources are contractors, a manufacturer, an engineering firm and a real estate blog; none is a government cost survey except the 2016 Fort Lauderdale figures that TRULINE quotes.

Why the ranges disagree

  • Material. JKT Marine prices vinyl sheet pile at $175 to $275 per ft and concrete panel at $250 to $400 per ft, and recommends vinyl for protected canals and concrete for Intracoastal and open water.
  • Water exposure and depth. The $650 to $2,000 figures come from deeper or more exposed water (the Fort Lauderdale survey varied "depending on the depth of the waterway") and from high-erosion sites (LandPerc, Pearce).
  • What is included. Some ranges are wall-only; JKT lists engineering ($2,000 to $5,000) and permits ($800 to $3,000) as additions. SFL's $500 to $1,200 is an installed price that it says varies with tie-back requirements and permitting complexity.
  • Region and age. Team Renick's own table runs about two to three times higher in Sarasota/Manatee than its South Florida row. The Fort Lauderdale survey is from 2016.

Seawall cost calculator

Enter your wall length and the kind of work. The calculator multiplies length by each published per-foot range and, if you tick the box, adds JKT Marine's published engineering ($2,000 to $5,000) and permit ($800 to $3,000) ranges. Formula: low = feet x low rate + adders low; high = feet x high rate + adders high.

How to use these numbers

Use the vinyl and concrete rows as a floor for a protected canal and the $500 to $2,000 rows as the ceiling for exposed or deep water. Ask each contractor to price the same scope in writing: length, material, cap, tie-backs, demolition and disposal, engineering, and permit fees. Permits, state exemptions and Army Corps rules are covered in the seawall permit guide, and city height minimums in seawall height by city. For deposits and lien rules see hiring a seawall contractor in Palm Beach County.

Questions, answered

FAQ

How much does a seawall cost per foot in Florida?

Published South Florida ranges start at $175 to $275 per linear foot for vinyl and $250 to $400 for concrete panel (JKT Marine), and reach $500 to $1,200 (South Florida Seawall) and $650 to $2,000 for deep or exposed water (2016 Fort Lauderdale survey quoted by TRULINE). Sources fetched November 6, 2026.

How much does it cost to replace a 100 foot seawall in Palm Beach County?

At the published per-foot ranges, 100 feet is about $17,500 to $27,500 for vinyl and $25,000 to $40,000 for concrete panel (JKT Marine), before engineering ($2,000 to $5,000) and permits ($800 to $3,000). South Florida Seawall's range would put the same wall at $50,000 to $120,000.

Why do seawall cost estimates vary so much?

Material, water depth and exposure, what the price includes (wall only or all-in with tie-backs, demolition, engineering and permits), region and the age of the figure all move the number.

Is seawall repair cheaper than replacement?

Usually. JKT Marine publishes cap repairs from $20 to $220 per foot depending on condition and says repair typically costs 15 to 40 percent of full replacement.
